This one is pretty rad and luckily it has cool enough cover art to live up to the film. Starring a real life Swedish glam metal band, this flick pours on heaps of classic '80s cheese while also making it hype by setting the film in an epic location - an abandoned factory high up in the snowy mountains. Directed by Sweden's number one (only?) action director, Mats Helge.........
BLOOD TRACKS (1985)
A Swedish glam metal band travel into the frozen north to shoot part of a music video near a huge, creepy, abandoned factory. Unbeknownst to them, a family of mutant hermits covered with festering sores, scuttle about like creatures amidst the worn out machinery, broken down furnaces and endless catwalks.
The band members, video crew, and entourage of groupie babes end up wandering though the abandoned factory when an avalanche stalls production of the video and leaves them stranded. The hermit family do not take kindly to trespassers though and the reign of murder, violence and abduction begins.
Director Mats Helge (The Ninja Mission) creates a pseudo slasher in the vein of The Hills Have Eyes that shows how the materialistic youth culture of the 80's turned their back on the traditions of industry. Stars real life hair band "Easy Action", who formed in Stockholm in 1982 and had a hit in Sweden with the song "We Go Rocking".

This is a request we tracked down recently and glad to be able to add it to our Ghost and Occult selection of rare flicks. I'm pretty happy with how the sleeve worked out as we were able to dig up some very cool source art, but if only Satan would appear in the film as he does on the cover....oh well......
THE DEVIL'S GIFT (1984)
An old widow tries to contact her departed husband with a Ouija board but fails and mistakenly summons an unwilling demon that comes to inhabit an antique wind-up monkey. The demon within the toy quickly orchestrates the demise of old women and destroys her house.
Years later, an 8-year old boy receives an antique toy monkey for his birthday. Strange things begin to happen, but are ignored until the boy has a close brush with death. Only then does his father realize the intensity of the evil powers that are lurking around. He must destroy the toy monkey before the powers of evil overtake him and his family.
This film of supernatural suspense is strikingly similar to Stephen King's short story "The Monkey", and supposedly lead to some legal action because of it. Also features a clever animated opening sequence.

This week we have a kind of post-women-in-prison flick that is part hicksplotation and part slasher. Junior can not really be compared to Leatherface or Freddy like the old video box might suggest, but he is definitely a deranged retard that provides a lot of character to this rare piece of Canadian cinema history......
JUNIOR (1985)
Two sexy prostitutes are fresh out of prison when they meet up with their old pimp. When he starts beating on them, the girls steal his car and set off on a life changing road trip. They come across an abandoned marina and decide to stay, take it over and make a business out of it.
The girls soon encounter the corrupt town sheriff and some creepy locals including Junior, the village idiot. Junior has a thing for fire, worms, rifles, knives, ropes, speedboats, and his psychotic mother. It isn't long before Junior has killed the girls dog and started to chip away at their house with his chainsaw.
This rare Canadian feature veers from one genre to the next but eventually settles on being full on horror in the end. Jeremy Ratchford stars as Junior, who went on to star in almost every Canadian television series as well as Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven.

This film was a request we got not too long ago that we tracked down. Made before "Throne of Fire", this is Franco Prosperi's first time directing the genre and starts the legend of Gunan, the cheese ball rip-off of Conan, play by Pietro Torrisi aka - Peter McCoy. The below death scene definitely gives you an idea of what you are getting into.........
THE INVINCIBLE BARBARIAN (1982)
A peaceful countryside village is assaulted by a wild tribe, led by an evil blood-thirsty tyrant. Although they lay waste to the village, two baby boys are miraculously saved by a tribe of Amazon warriors.
The warriors train the two boys for future struggles. The stronger of the two is named "Gunan the Invincible" and it is his fate to avenge the annihilation of his people. Gunan stages a spectacular one-man war against the the evil marauders, but they prove a formidable adversary that won't go down without an epic battle.
Franco Prosperi directs this barbarian adventure with Pietro Torrisi and Sabrina Siani who teamed up with him again for "The Throne of Fire" and also starred in "The Sword of the Barbarians" together. In the spirit or recycling, the first 10 minutes describes evolution and ancient prophecy uses footage stolen right from Hammer Studios' 1966 film "One Million Years B.C.".
AKA - GUNAN, KING OF THE BARBARIANS
THE INVINCIBLE BARBARIANis available immediately and can be found in the Sci-Fi and Adventure section of the website. If it is still listed as COMING SOON, please email us at revok@revok.com with your request and we can send you a customized invoice so you can easily pay by PayPal or credit card.

This week we have a really rare one from the late great Dennis Hopper. Even after it won best picture at the Venice Film Festival, Universal buried it after Hopper refused to recut it for its proper theatrical release. Some will love this film, some will hate it, but regardless, it really is an experience like all great art and should experienced for yourself. If you are a fan of Mr. Hopper, this is a must for the collection.........
THE LAST MOVIE (1971)
A crew of American movie makers come to Peru to shoot a western. The locals become mystified by the crew's amazing gear and create giant, non-functional bamboo versions of the film equipment. When the film wraps and the Americans leave, a stuntman stays behind to ineptly exploit the wilds around him.
The villagers start a cult and cast the stuntman to be in their own movie production. They seem to have failed to recognize that the deaths in the actual movie they saw being filmed were not real. In their "movie" when someone dies, he dies for real. Everything grows to a feverish pitch as civilization and primitivism poison each other as church and theatre become locked in a combustible embrace.
Dennis Hopper went to his grave insisting that this film was his own Citizen Kane. Alexandro Jodorowsky was an editing consultant as well, which seemed to add to the already trippy vibe. Look for Hopper's buddies Peter Fonda and Dean Stockwell, Eurocrime regular Tomas Milian, as well as Kris Kristofferson in his screen debut.
